Milltown House is a Fáilte Ireland approved, award-winning, 4-star guesthouse situated less than 3 km from the town of Dingle, on the Dingle Peninsula in southwestern Ireland. We are situated overlooking the beautiful Dingle Harbour area, with a private car park, and are open from mid-March through mid-November.

Milltown House itself is well over 100 years old, but has all modern conveniences. All ten of our bedrooms have direct dial telephones, televisions, alarm radios, tea and coffee making facilities, and hair dryers. Needless to say, all of our bedrooms are en-suite. Our family would sum up our rooms, and indeed our house, as non-pretentious, and very comfortable and welcoming.

An interesting aside to Milltown House, for those who are interested in trivia, is that Robert Mitchum and his family lived in the house for over a year during the filming of David Lean's movie "Ryan's Daughter" in the 1960s.

The house has a lovely conservatory, again overlooking Dingle Harbor. This is our breakfast room, where you can choose what you like from our buffet, and then enjoy anything from a wild honey pancake to a full Irish breakfast from our breakfast menu. On six days a week we offer a light menu selection from mid-day to 7:00 PM. This menu is ideal for those who feel like eating a bit more lightly. You may eat in the conservatory or, if you wish, you may have your selection served in your bedroom. It goes without saying that we will cater for any special dietary needs if advised of requirements. Because of strict Irish liqueur laws, we are not allowed to sell beer or hard spirits, but we do have a wine licence. A glass of wine can be enjoyed in our Lounge.

Milltown House Bed and Breakfast, Dingle

When the weather turns warm, we have tables and chairs on our lawn where you can really relax and look at the activity in Dingle Bay. On occasion you can see Fungie, Dingle's famous wild dolphin, jumping and playing near the harbour mouth. For anyone interested, you can take yachting and wind surfing lessons in Dingle, not to mention snorkelling and diving lessons. Talking of adjacent amenities, right at the back of our house is a golf driving range and an excellent pitch and putt course. Less than 2 km away, you can go horseriding and pony trekking. A 10 minute drive sees you out at Ceann Sibeal golf course in Ballyferriter.

In-House Movie Channel — Every evening we show Irish-made or Ireland-related movies, including "Ryan's Daughter", "Far and Away", "Into the West", and "The Quiet Man". We also show Irish music and song videos. Our in-house movie channel is free to guests at Milltown House Guesthouse.
E-Mail and Web Browser — We have a coin-operated web browser available in our lobby for guest use, at a rate of 8 minutes for £1. Check your e-mail or browse the Internet at your convenience during your stay at Milltown House.

Dingle's night pub life is legendary. I can personally vouch for that! The town boasts over 30 eating establishments, from traditional fish and chips to blue-ribbon award-winning restaurants. Milltown House keeps its own food largely traditional.

Milltown House has been awarded four stars by Fáilte Ireland, the Irish Tourist Board. This is their highest guesthouse classification. Our guests consistently rate Milltown House as excellent in every respect. In addition, Milltown House has these commendations:

Milltown House has received a 5 Diamond rating from the Royal Automobile Club (one of Europe's most prestigious motoring organisations), which is the highest rating awarded guesthouses.
